Fiber Optics.

CTC offers fiber optic networks in many of our service areas. Unlike older copper cabling, fiber doesn’t slow down over long-distance cable runs. This means everyone in your household can stream, shop, work, learn, and game to their hearts content!

The Future is Fiber

In simple terms, fiber optic technology allows information to be coded and sent in a beam of light down a glass or plastic pipe. Since light moves at 186,000 miles per second across the fibers, connections aren’t bound by speed limitations.

Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) is the fastest and most efficient method of providing greater bandwidth and higher speeds to homes, businesses, farms, and entire cities. One strand of glass fiber is the size of a human hair and can provide multiple dwellings with broadband.

Connecting endpoints directly to fiber optic cable provides a more robust, reliable, and faster way of delivering internet.

As older technologies stretch the limits of their performance or speed, constant improvements in fiber optic technology and equipment can improve how much bandwidth is available – without having to deploy new networks.

Fast & (Equally) Furious

With fiber optics, both download and upload speeds are equally great.

Fast download speeds – Watch online videos, stream movies, view messages from family, and download large apps and programs, all without waiting.

Fast upload speeds –  Video chat with family, view live video from security cameras, and quickly add large files to file-sharing programs for work, school, or personal projects.

Having fiber optics at your house can even increase your property value. In neighborhoods that have access to 500 Mbps internet or faster, purchase prices were over 7% higher than in neighborhoods where the highest available speed was 25 Mbps*.
